Investing in Local Infrastructure

$200 million investment will help small, rural and Northern communities build and repair roads, bridges, water, and wastewater systems

Our PC government recognizes that municipalities need flexibility to support their own priority infrastructure needs.

That’s why we are investing $200 million in municipalities through the 2021 Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund. This funding will help 424 small, rural and Northern communities across Ontario with critical projects like building and repairing local roads and bridges, as well as water and wastewater infrastructure.

These are projects that create local jobs, support local businesses and suppliers, and improve the overall quality of life for people living in these communities. All of these things are critical to a strong recovery for communities in rural Ontario.

By making this stable, predictable investment, our government is not only improving critical infrastructure, we are strengthening local economies, creating jobs and laying the foundation for our long-term recovery.
