Dr. Merrilee Fullerton is a medical professional who has spent her career helping people in her community. Today, Merrilee is MPP for Kanata-Carleton and Minister for Children, Community and Social Services.
Having graduated from University of Ottawa Medical School, Merrilee practiced locally as a family physician for almost 30 years. She was active in professional medical associations and local health care organizations, including advisory roles in the OMA, CMA and membership in the City of Ottawa Board of Health and the local LHIN serving Ottawa and area. She is a constant advocate for better universal health care services, particularly long-term care services.
Merrilee is a wife and mother, raising her three children with Steve, her husband of 35 years. Between her active family life and her career, Merrilee has always made time for volunteering with neighbourhood groups or her children’s recreational activities.
