Ontario PCs Continue to Lead the Country in Breaking Down Trade Barriers and Strengthening Canada’s Economy

Under the leadership of Premier Doug Ford, Ontario continues to lead the way in tearing down internal trade barriers, strengthening our economy, and protecting Canadian jobs.

This week, Ontario signed new free trade agreements with British Columbia and Canada’s three territories—Yukon, the Northwest Territories, and Nunavut—bringing the total to 10 provinces and territories now partnered with Ontario. These agreements are helping unlock up to $200 billion in economic potential by cutting red tape, improving labour mobility, and making it easier for businesses to grow across the country.

At a time when global economic threats are growing—especially with President Trump’s tariff threats—it’s never been more important to build a strong, self-reliant Canadian economy.

The Ontario PC government passed the Protect Ontario Through Free Trade Within Canada Act, to make Ontario more open for business, removing outdated trade restrictions, and giving our workers and businesses every opportunity to succeed.

We’re getting it done—building a stronger economy, protecting jobs, and making Ontario a national leader in economic growth and cooperation.
