The City of Windsor has exceeded expectations by breaking ground on 2,306 new homes in 2024, an incredible 213% of its provincial housing target.
That’s why Premier Doug Ford and Minister Rob Flack have announced $5.2 million for Windsor through the second round of the Building Faster Fund. This investment will help the city build even more homes and the critical infrastructure needed to support them, keeping our economy growing and workers on the job.
Launched in 2023, the $1.2 billion Building Faster Fund rewards municipalities that meet or exceed 80% of their housing targets by investing in housing-enabling and community infrastructure. Windsor’s outstanding results prove what can be achieved when municipalities cut red tape, repurpose land for development, and work in close partnership with the province to get more homes built faster.
Our PC government is also delivering record support for housing-enabling infrastructure through programs like the Housing-Enabling Water Systems Fund and the Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program, as well as streamlining development through the Protect Ontario by Building Faster and Smarter Act, 2025.
