Ontario PCs Back Young Entrepreneurs with $2 Million Investment

The Ontario PC government is taking decisive action to protect workers, businesses, and jobs from the impact of U.S. tariffs and ongoing economic uncertainty, while building a stronger, more self-reliant economy.

That’s why we’re proud to announce a new $2 million investment in Futurpreneur Canada to help 320 young entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 39 launch and grow their own businesses right here in Ontario.

Futurpreneur Canada, an Ontario-based not-for-profit, connects aspiring business owners with collateral-free loans of up to $75,000, mentorship from experienced advisors, and hands-on programming through its flagship Startup Program. With this support, young entrepreneurs can turn their ideas into thriving businesses that create jobs and strengthen communities.

Since 2021, Ontario has invested $9 million in Futurpreneur, supporting nearly 1,200 new businesses, disbursing over 1,000 loans, and creating close to 4,500 jobs across the province; including in Northern, rural, and remote communities.

This builds on our government’s ongoing supports for small businesses, which employ nearly 2.5 million people and make up 98 per cent of all Ontario businesses.
