Our PC government is protecting Ontario’s health care system and strengthening our economy with a new $18 million investment to expand medical isotope production at McMaster University in Hamilton.
By running the McMaster Nuclear Reactor 24/7, Ontario will:
- Deliver up to 84,000 additional life-saving cancer treatments each year.
- Create 16 new, good-paying jobs in Hamilton.
- Cement Ontario’s leadership in nuclear medicine innovation, helping patients here at home and around the world.
Every family in Ontario knows someone impacted by cancer. That’s why our government is taking action to make sure more patients can access the treatments they need, closer to home. This investment means more cancer patients will benefit from Ontario-made innovations and faster access to life-saving care.
This announcement is also about more than health care, it’s about building a stronger Ontario. By leveraging our province’s nuclear advantage, we’re driving homegrown research, creating high-quality jobs, and keeping Ontario competitive in a growing global market.
