Ontario PCs Expanding Home Care to Help More Seniors Age Safely at Home

Our PC government is protecting Ontario’s public health care and supporting seniors and families with a historic $1.1 billion investment over three years to strengthen and expand home care services across the province.

This investment will ensure more Ontarians can recover and live independently at home, freeing up hospital beds for those who need them most.

Through this plan, we’re:

  • Providing $982 million to connect more patients with nurses, physiotherapists and social workers;
  • Investing over $170 million to expand the successful Hospital to Home program, adding 18 new sites and expanding 23 others;
  • Helping seniors stay close to loved ones and communities while easing pressures on hospitals and long-term care homes.

Because of these responsible, forward-looking investments, more than 650,000 Ontarians are now receiving home care, an 18 per cent increase over the past two years. Wait lists for personal support services have dropped by 94 per cent, and hospital readmissions are down nearly 25 per cent.

As Ontario’s population ages, our PC government, led by Premier Doug Ford, is building a stronger, more resilient health-care system that delivers the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
