Ontario PCs Launch Feasibility Study for Nation-Building East-West Pipeline

The Ontario PC government is taking bold action to build a stronger, more self-reliant Canada by launching a feasibility study for a new Canadian East-West pipeline and energy corridor. This landmark project would connect Alberta and Saskatchewan’s world-class energy resources to refineries and ports in Ontario — unlocking new markets, strengthening national unity, and protecting our province’s energy security for generations to come.

As part of our plan to protect Ontario, this project represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to build major infrastructure that puts Canadian workers, manufacturers and resources first. The proposed corridor would be built entirely within Canada using Canadian steel, supporting thousands of skilled jobs and boosting Ontario’s manufacturing supply chains from Hamilton to Sault Ste. Marie and beyond.

Working together with Alberta and Saskatchewan, Ontario is proving what’s possible when provinces lead with common sense — growing our economy, cutting red tape, and advancing responsible development that ensures Canadian energy powers Canadian homes and businesses.

The feasibility study will also explore complementary opportunities including Ring of Fire road links, mineral exports, power grid upgrades, and a strategic petroleum reserve, all key components of Ontario’s plan to secure our future energy needs while driving economic growth.

By investing in this nation-building project, our Ontario PC government is standing up for Canadian energy, protecting good-paying jobs, and ensuring our province remains the economic engine of Canada.
