Ontario PC Party Leader Doug Ford has unveiled the proposed route for the Northern Shield Energy Corridor, a historic nation-building project that would connect Western Canadian energy to Ontario and strengthen Canada’s economy and energy security.
The proposed corridor would move Western Canadian oil along a 3,300-kilometre route from Hardisty, Alberta, to new and expanded refineries in Sarnia, Ontario, with capacity to move up to 800,000 barrels of Canadian oil per day.
Built entirely through Canada using Canadian steel, the Northern Shield Energy Corridor would reduce Canada’s reliance on U.S. markets and infrastructure, strengthen domestic supply chains, support Canadian manufacturing and create good-paying jobs for Canadian workers.
At a time of global economic uncertainty, Doug Ford and the Ontario PC team are working with provinces across the country to build a stronger, more self-reliant Canada that keeps workers on the job, keeps costs down for families and protects our economy.
Only Doug Ford and the Ontario PC team have a plan to Protect Ontario, protect Canadian workers and build a stronger, more secure Canada.
