Another station is taking shape on the Scarborough Subway Extension as Doug Ford’s Ontario PC team continues delivering the infrastructure needed to fight gridlock, connect people to jobs and keep Ontario growing.
Major construction is now underway at the future Lawrence Avenue and McCowan Road station, the second of three new stations on the Scarborough Subway Extension. Once complete, the station will connect thousands of riders to Scarborough General Hospital, support more than 3,400 nearby jobs and provide improved access to express bus service along Lawrence Avenue.
The Scarborough Subway Extension will extend TTC Line 2 by 7.8 kilometres, bringing fast, reliable subway service deeper into Scarborough. It will accommodate an estimated 105,000 daily trips and put 38,000 more people and 34,000 jobs within a 10-minute walk of transit.
Construction of the project is expected to keep 3,000 workers on the job every year while creating the infrastructure needed to support one of Ontario’s fastest-growing communities.
