Ontario PCs Win By-Elections in York-Simcoe and Hamilton East-Stoney Creek

TORONTO – Ontario PC Party Leader Doug Ford congratulated Susan Lahey and Jeff Beattie tonight on their victories in the York–Simcoe and Hamilton East–Stoney Creek by-elections.

“Tonight, Ontario voters in York-Simcoe and Hamilton East-Stoney Creek elected two strong local representatives who will protect Ontario, stand up for workers and families and keep our province moving forward,” said Ford. “I want to congratulate Susan and Jeff on their victories and thank every volunteer and supporter who worked so hard to elect them.”

Lahey, a small business owner, East Gwillimbury Town Councillor and long-time community volunteer, was elected in York–Simcoe after running a campaign focused on affordability, responsible growth, improving local infrastructure and strengthening local health care.

Beattie, a lifelong Stoney Creek resident, local business owner and Hamilton City Councillor, was elected in Hamilton East–Stoney Creek after campaigning on protecting local jobs, investing in health care and infrastructure and keeping costs down for families.

“These results are a strong vote of confidence in our plan to protect Ontario,” said Ford. “At a time when President Trump’s tariffs are threatening our workers and economy, people want a government that will stand up for Ontario, keep costs down, build the infrastructure our growing communities need and do whatever it takes to protect our workers and jobs.”

With Lahey and Beattie joining the Ontario PC team at Queen’s Park, Doug Ford and Ontario’s PCs will continue working to protect Ontario by building roads, highways, transit and hospitals, strengthening health care, lowering costs and making Ontario the most competitive place in the G7 to invest and create good-paying jobs.

“I also want to thank Noor Tarun for putting his name forward and running a strong campaign in Scarborough Southwest,” said Ford. “He worked incredibly hard, and I’m grateful for his commitment to our Ontario PC team and to the community he calls home.”
