Every day, Ontario’s first responders put themselves in challenging and dangerous situations to protect our communities and keep people safe.
Our Ontario PC team understands that protecting Ontario means having the backs of the firefighters, police officers, paramedics and other public safety personnel who are there when we need them most.
That’s why we’re making the investments needed to give first responders the modern equipment, training and resources they need to do their jobs safely and effectively, while strengthening the supports available to them beyond the front lines.
We’re investing more than $50 million through the Fire Protection Grant to help municipal fire services expand cancer prevention initiatives and purchase life-saving equipment that better protects firefighters on the job.
We’re also investing $32.5 million through the Mental Health Supports for Public Safety Personnel Program, providing first responders and public safety personnel with free access to specialized mental health resources when and where they need them.
Whether they’re responding to a fire, a medical emergency or a threat to public safety, Ontario’s first responders answer the call every single day.
Doug Ford and our Ontario PC team will continue to stand with the people who put themselves on the line to protect our communities and make sure they have the tools, resources and supports they need to keep Ontario safe.
