Increasing Supports for Victims of Human Trafficking

Significant investment will increase survivor-led programming and Indigenous-led services

Our PC government is committed to preventing and addressing violence against women and girls in all its forms, including human trafficking and sexual exploitation.

That’s why, as part of our strategy to combat human trafficking, we are providing $46 million for new community-based services across Ontario, so more victims and survivors have access to the supports they need. The 27 new projects being funded through the expanded Community Supports and Indigenous-led Initiatives funds respond to key needs identified by frontline agencies and survivors and will provide a more comprehensive network of services across the province.

These new programs will expand supports for underserved populations, increase French-language services, and bring supports to more regions of the province, including rural, remote, and northern communities.

Building on existing funding provided through the Community Supports and Indigenous-led Initiatives funds, Ontario is investing a total of $96 million in local services to provide survivor-led programming, address geographic gaps in the province and deliver support for sexually exploited children and youth as part of the province’s $307 million Anti-Human Trafficking Strategy.
