Statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on the nomination of Michael Harris
“I congratulate Michael on his nomination as the Ontario PC candidate for Kitchener-Conestoga.
“Michael has been a key part of our Ontario PC team since his election in 2011. He is a tireless advocate for the constituents of Kitchener-Conestoga and has built a reputation as a dogged critic of the government.
“Named as Ontario PC Transportation and Research and Innovation Critic in 2014, Michael is an effective and vocal member of our team holding the Minister to account on project deadlines, planned transportation/transit investments, and continued ministerial missteps.
“Over his five years at Queen’s Park, Michael has been a strong voice for Waterloo Region both in – and out of – the Legislature. He continues to advocate for the government to keep its commitment on Two-Way, All-Day GO to Kitchener, while carrying on his fight for local tradespeople and fair competition. As a legislator Michael has worked diligently on bills to provide rare disease treatment, add roundabout rules to the Highway Traffic Act, and ensure accommodations for those requiring service dog assistance.
“After 13 years in power, life is harder under the Liberal government. Electricity prices are skyrocketing. Health care is being slashed. Billions of tax dollars are being wasted on scandal after scandal. It’s time for a change in Ontario.
“I look forward to working closely with Michael for a strong Waterloo Region and Ontario as we continue to spread the Ontario PC Party’s message of change across the province.”
