Statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on the nomination of Peter Bethlenfalvy

The following is a statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on the nomination of Peter Bethlenfalvy as the Ontario PC candidate for Pickering-Uxbridge:

“I congratulate Peter Bethlenfalvy on his nomination as the Ontario PC candidate for Pickering-Uxbridge.

“A leader in the financial services sector, Peter brings invaluable experience to our Ontario PC team. Peter has spent 25 years holding international senior leadership roles and currently acts as Chief Investment Officer at C.S.T. Consultants Inc.  Prior to joining C.S.T. Peter held the role of Senior Vice President, Financial Regulations at Manulife Financial, as well as Co-President of DBRS Limited, where the agency downgraded Ontario’s long and short-term debt ratings. Peter is well-equipped to help us address Ontario’s dire economic and fiscal state.

“Peter’s leadership extends to community affairs, where he is a member of the C.D. Howe Institute’s Services Research Initiative and serves on the Board of Crohn’s and Colitis Canada. I am confident Peter will be a strong advocate for his community of Pickering-Uxbridge.

“After 13 years, life is harder under the Liberals. Skyrocketing hydro rates are unaffordable for both families and businesses. Cut after cut to health care services has meant more time waiting for care, and taxpayer dollars continue to be wasted.

“In Pickering-Uxbridge and across the province, the Ontario PC Party will continue to work hard to earn the trust of voters. I look forward to working with Peter and all of our Ontario PC Party team as we work hard to share our positive message for a more prosperous Ontario.”
