Statement from Ontario PC Women’s Issues Critic Laurie Scott

The following is a statement from the Ontario PC Critic for Women’s Issues, Laurie Scott, on the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women:

“Today we remember the École Polytechnique massacre that took place 27 years ago in Montréal, in which 14 young women were targeted and brutally murdered simply for being women.
“Every year on this day we remember the victims, their loved ones, and the communities affected.
“We also commit ourselves to the important and ongoing work to end violence against women and girls. We must never allow the tragedy of December 6, 1989 to be repeated.
“On behalf of the Ontario PC Caucus, I urge all Ontarians to take action today, and every day, to help build a province and country that is free from violence against women.”
