MPP Coe Congratulates Unifor and GM on their Successful Negotiations

QUEEN’S PARK – Today, Whitby-Oshawa MPP Lorne Coe congratulated Unifor and GM on the ratification of their recent collective agreement.

“This is an important moment not only for General Motors and Unifor, but the entire community in the Durham Region. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the GM employees who continue to be a pillar of this community.”

MPP Coe said that GM’s commitment to invest in ‘significant new product and technology’ at the Oshawa, St. Catharines and Woodstock facilities is a welcome one.

“I’m excited to see how these investments will take shape in the months ahead. Despite the Wynne Liberals’ record of economic mismanagement, the manufacturing sector continues to be the heartbeat of Whitby and Oshawa, and this agreement goes a long way to ensuring that this sector can remain vibrant in the coming years.”
