Wynne Liberals’ Cuts to Physician Services Hurt Patients in Scarborough
SCARBOROUGH – This morning, Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown and Ontario PC candidate for Scarborough-Rouge River Raymond Cho met with Dr. Douglas Mark, a local physician and the Interim President of DoctorsOntario, where they discussed the impact the Wynne Liberals’ health care cuts are having on patients.
Dr. Douglas Mark, whose clinic Your Total Health Care is based in Scarborough, spoke about how he has lived and worked as a physician in the area for 30 years, and has never seen Ontario physicians and patients treated the way they have been by this Liberal Government.
“As a City Councillor and resident of Scarborough I have watched as this Liberal Government has ignored the health care needs of our community,” said Ontario PC candidate Raymond Cho. “As MPP for Scarborough-Rouge River I would work hard to ensure my residents get the health care they deserve.”
Wynne Liberal mismanagement has resulted in $815 million cut from physician services in 2015. The end result has been longer wait times, clinic closures, and doctors leaving the province or retiring early.
“In the Scarborough-Rouge River by-election, voters have the opportunity to send Premier Wynne a message that they are fed up with Liberal cuts to health care,” Brown added. “They’re tired of seeing the quality of their care compromised as a result of a Liberal Government plagued with scandal, waste and mismanagement. For the people of Scarborough, life is harder under the Wynne Liberals.”
Brown concluded, “Only the Ontario PC Party and Raymond Cho will work hard to ensure a sustainable health care system that puts patients first.”
