Mike Harris Acclaimed as Ontario PC Party Candidate for Kitchener-Conestoga

KITCHENER-CONESTOGA – Today, the Ontario PC Party announced that Mike Harris has been acclaimed as the party’s candidate for Kitchener-Conestoga in the next provincial general election.

Since being elected MPP, Mike Harris has delivered meaningful results for the people of Kitchener-Conestoga. He has secured critical investments in local infrastructure, health care and workforce development. These include investments in the Wellesley Township Recreation Centre, a significant upgrade to MRI services at Grand River Hospital and over $4.4 million in funding to train more than 529 workers locally.

“Mike Harris is a vocal advocate for Kitchener-Conestoga,” said Doug Ford, Leader of the Ontario PC Party. “He’s working tirelessly to deliver for his community. From improving health-care services like the MRI expansion at Grand River Hospital to investments in recreation and housing infrastructure, Mike is making life better for the people of his riding. I know he’ll continue to fight for them as we work together to build a stronger Ontario.”

Mike Harris and the Ontario PC Party will continue working to make life more affordable for the people of Kitchener-Conestoga. These efforts include opposing the Liberal carbon tax, reducing the gas tax by 10 cents per litre, eliminating the licence plate sticker fee, banning new road tolls and making strategic investments in housing and community development to meet local needs.

“I am extremely proud of the work I have undertaken in my tenure in office and very excited to accept this nomination with an eye on continuing to deliver for the families of Kitchener-Conestoga,” said Mike Harris, “We have done a lot of good work in our first two terms, and I am pleased to be given the opportunity to continue to expand on the foundations we have built.”
