Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown Visits Aurora as a Part of Policy Consultation Tour

AURORA – Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown was in Aurora today, meeting with Mayor Geoff Dawe, visiting local businesses, and speaking with families as part of his efforts to promote the Party’s policy consultation process.

“I’ve always said that the new Ontario PC Party will listen relentlessly.  We want to work with the people of Ontario to change our province for the better. Our Party’s consultation process will allow us to identify the issues Ontarians care the most about, and develop practical solutions to meet those challenges,” said Brown. “We welcome the submission of any and every idea that will strengthen the province of Ontario.”

At the Ontario PC Party’s General Meeting this past spring, Brown announced that the Party would be embarking on the largest, most inclusive policy development process in its history.  Throughout the summer, PC MPPs will be taking the policy discussion on the road to ridings across the province. While the consultations will take a variety of forms, a key tool is the website ForOntario.ca, where anyone can share their ideas on issues such as the economy, education, transit, or health care.

“It was great to come to Aurora today and meet with both the Mayor and local residents to get a better sense of their local challenges and opportunities,” stated Brown. “By far the number one concern I heard from people on the streets and at the local businesses, was that life continues to get harder under the Wynne Liberals. They’re tired of cuts to local health care services. They’re tired of skyrocketing hydro rates. Mainly, they’re tired of a self-interested Government that doesn’t listen.”

Mayor Dawe later added, “I truly appreciatedPatrick taking the time to come to Aurora and discuss issues impacting our town’s residents and businesses. It was great to have the opportunity to have a free exchange of ideas. I look forward to working closely with him on issues related to our community.”

Together, Brown and Dawe visited the Aurora Public Library, farmer’s market, and the Aurora Cultural Centre. Later, Brown stopped by one of the town’s bakeries and pizzerias.
