Statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on Eid

Today, Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown issued the following statement marking Eid:

“As-salamu alaykum and happy Eid al-Fitr! 

 

On behalf of the Ontario PC Party, I would like to wish everyone a happy and blessed Eid.

This celebration marks the end of the month of Ramadan, as Muslims across our province and around the world come together with family and friends to mark this joyous occasion.

This year, I was honoured to join members of Ontario’s vibrant Muslim community in breaking fast during Ramadan, while hosting my own Ramadan dinner in Mississauga that was attended by hundreds of people. I also had the opportunity to travel to Lebanon and meet with refugees, where I saw first-hand the great work that Canada is doing helping those in need abroad.

It has been an exciting and rewarding month, a great testament to the wonderful diversity we have in Ontario.

Eid Mubarak! Thank you for allowing me to celebrate with you!”
