ADDING MORE WEIGHT TO A SINKING SHIP

TORONTO – Today, Premier Wynne’s Liberal Government increased to 30 ministers – the largest provincial cabinet in the country. This is a Government that spends more than $1-billion a month on interest payments and has enough money to pay for limos to chauffeur a bloated cabinet; however they continue to slash nursing positions, frontline health care, and transformational therapy for children with autism.

In case you missed it, here are some highlights from the updated bloated Liberal cabinet:

  • Hon. Liz Sandals, the Minister who didn’t know whether she had receipts for the largest Domino’s bill of all time, will now be responsible for overseeing all government expenses.
  • Hon. Eric Hoskins remains the Minister who would rather go to Blue Jays games than vote on restoring health care funding for Ontario patients. The Premier continues to stand by her Health Minister despite calls from the Ontario PC Party and Ontario’s physicians to fire him for his short-sighted cuts to frontline care.
  • Hon. Charles Sousa will remain the Minister responsible for increasing Ontario’s debt to over $300-billion, the largest in our province’s history.
  • Hon. Helena Jaczek, who invested $290 million into a flawed case management system, will continue to ensure its implementation is over budget and delayed.
  • Hon. Glen Murray receives a vote of confidence from the Premier and remains the Minister who wants to eliminate natural gas in the province.
  • Hon. Bob Chiarelli, who as Energy Minister compared cancelled gas plants to cups of coffee, will now be responsible for budgeting and overseeing taxpayer dollars spent on all infrastructure projects.
  • Hon. Michael Coteau, who repeatedly claimed the Pan Am/Parapan Am Games were not over budget, will now attempt to claim that the government is not cutting autism therapy for children over five.
  • Hon. Glenn Thibeault, following eight failed Liberal Ministers of Energy, has now been appointed the first NDP Minister of Energy since 1993.
