Statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on Victoria Day
The following is a statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on Victoria Day:
“This weekend, Ontarians from across our great province will mark Victoria Day with fireworks and barbeques, and most importantly time spent with loved ones.
Named in honour of Queen Victoria, a “Mother of Confederation,” this holiday predates Canada itself, and is an enduring reminder of the role the Monarchy has played in the history of our province and nation.
In Canada, Victoria Day also marks the monarch’s “official birthday,” making this year’s celebration particularly special as we celebrate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s ninetieth birthday.
On behalf of the Ontario PC Caucus, I want to extend my best wishes to all Ontarians as they enjoy the long weekend with family and friends.”
