Statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown to mark Israel Independence Day

The following is a statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown to mark Israel Independence Day:

“Today marks the national day of Israel, Yom Ha’atzmaut, which celebrates Israel’s declaration of Independence. Taking place only a few short years after the end of the Second World War and in the shadows of the Holocaust, the establishment of the State of Israel was both an important and remarkable moment in the history of the Jewish people.

Israel has become a successful democratic country and a regional economic powerhouse, particularly in the fields of research and development. I am proud that Israel and Ontario share strong values, people-to-people ties and excellent economic cooperation. I know that this relationship will continue to grow stronger in the years to come.

To all those celebrating, happy Independence Day!”
