Statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown Marking Asian Heritage Month

The following is a statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown to mark the beginning of Asian Heritage Month: 

 

“Across Canada and here in Ontario, May is recognized as Asian Heritage Month. Since 2002, this month has represented an opportunity to celebrate the contributions of Canada’s diverse Asian immigrant communities.

Immigrants from Asia established roots in Ontario as far back as the 19th century, and today, Ontarians of Asian origin make up over twenty per cent of our province’s population. Whether from South Asia, East Asia, or Central Asia, Ontarians of Asian heritage have contributed significantly to our province’s successful development and to our incredible cultural diversity. 

I join with my Caucus colleagues in wishing everyone a happy Asian Heritage Month!”
