Statement from Leader of the Official Opposition Patrick Brown on First Responders Day
The following is a statement from Leader of the Official Opposition Patrick Brown on First Responders Day:
“May 1st marks First Responders Day, an opportunity to honour the courageous men and women who serve their communities as first responders. They are the ones who are there in our moments of need at split-second notice. First responders protect the safety that we have come to expect, often putting their lives on the line in the process.
First Responders Day was the product of the hard work of former Ontario PC MPP Frank Klees (Newmarket-Aurora) whose Private Member’s Bill, the First Responders Day Act, was passed into law in 2013.
On behalf of the Ontario PC Caucus, I thank all of Ontario’s first responders for their ongoing sacrifice and commitment to community and public service.”
