Statement by Ontario PC Leader on Tamil New Year

I would like to extend my warmest wishes to friends from the Tamil community celebrating Tamil New Year’s Day. 

Puthandu, also known as Varusha Pirappu, marks the first day of the Tamil New Year.   It is a time where families and friends come together to share gifts and pray for blessings. 

I would also like to thank the Tamil community for their many contributions to Ontario, reflected in our economic, political, social, and cultural life. 

Best wishes to all celebrating Tamil New Year.
