Statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on Tartan Day
The following is a statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on National Tartan Day:
“National Tartan Day is an annual tradition that was started by Canadians of Scottish heritage to commemorate Scotland’s unique history and traditions. It has since been adopted around the world.
Today, 2 million Ontarians claim Scottish ancestry, and Scottish heritage is very much a part of our province’s fabric.
Every year, Ontarians of Scottish descent participate in festive Tartan Day gatherings across the province to enjoy Highland dancing, pipe bands and other traditions.
On behalf of Ontario’s PC Caucus, I wish all Ontarians a happy Tartan Day and thank them for their enduring contributions to our province.”
