To reduce costs for hard-working families, support local businesses and put more money back into people’s pockets, the Ontario PC government is proposing a plan to eliminate tolls on Highway 407 East. This move could save regular commuters on the provincially owned highway around $7,200 per year.
In addition, your Ontario PC government plans to make permanent the temporary cuts to gasoline and fuel tax rates that were introduced in 2022. By locking in these tax rates at nine cents per litre, Ontario households will continue to save an average of $115 per year – building on the $1.7 billion in savings already delivered at the pumps since 2022.
Together, these proposals will help make transportation more affordable and accessible, helping Ontarians across the province manage rising costs – especially in the face of economic uncertainty caused by the current U.S. tariffs.
