Ontario PC Party Kicks Off 2016 General Meeting
OTTAWA – Today, the Ontario PC Party kicked off its 2016 General Meeting (GM) in Ottawa, with events occurring over the course of the three-day convention.
“I believe I speak for the entire Ontario PC Caucus when I say how we are excited to be starting our convention weekend today,” said Leader Patrick Brown. “Over the course of the weekend, we look forward to discussing how to further build up our Party and how we can build a better province.”
More than 1,600 delegates are attending the convention, with over 450 youth delegates in attendance – the largest contingent of youth ever to attend an Ontario PC Convention.
“We have delegates in attendance from as far north as Kapuskasing, as west as Kenora, and south as Windsor. 14 university and college campuses are represented, and we have an incredibly diverse group of stakeholders in attendance,” added Leader Patrick Brown. “This weekend reflects just how united and thriving the Ontario PC Party truly is.”
This weekend the Ontario PC Party will launch its policy consultation process. Driven by the grassroots, the process will be ongoing into the lead up of the Party’s GM next year.
“While the Liberals claim to be listening, the Ontario PC Party is beginning what I believe will be the most open and extensive policy consultation process the Party has ever seen. We want to involve as many people as possible in the process and work with anyone and everyone who wants what’s best for Ontario.”
Brown concluded, “This weekend is another step in the march towards building a Progressive Conservative majority government in 2018.”
