Ontario PCs Supporting Farmers with New Investment to Boost Energy Efficiency

Under the leadership of Premier Doug Ford, the Ontario PC government is once again standing up for Ontario’s farmers and food producers.

That’s why we’re investing nearly $3 million through the third intake of the Agricultural Stewardship Initiative (ASI) to help local agriculture, agri-food, and agri-based product businesses improve energy efficiency, reduce operating costs, and stay competitive in the face of rising expenses and U.S. tariffs.

Through ASI, eligible farmers can receive between $10,000 and $90,000 for energy efficiency improvements, such as:

  • Replacing inefficient on-farm technologies
  • Installing geothermal heating systems
  • Implementing high-efficiency cooling, drying, refrigeration, lighting, grain, ventilation, and motor systems

This is about putting more money back in the pockets of farmers while protecting the environment and keeping workers on the job.

Ontario farmers can submit one application for the third intake of the ASI between August 13 and September 3, 2025, if they meet the eligibility requirements. Full details on how to apply and determine project eligibility are available on the Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association (OSCIA) website.
