The Ontario PC government is investing more than $11.1 million to support local jobs, grow the economy, and enhance sport and recreation facilities across the Niagara Region.
These investments are part of the $200 million Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund (CSRIF)—a provincewide initiative that’s revitalizing local facilities, strengthening communities, and promoting active, healthy living across Ontario.
Projects Include:
- $10 million for a major upgrade to the 52-year-old Chippawa Willoughby Memorial Arena, including a new NHL-sized ice pad, expanded spectator seating, seven changerooms, and a modern community hub featuring an accessible library and multi-generational programming. These improvements will expand access to community programs and help serve the 1,100 new homes planned for the surrounding area.
- $698,000 to refurbish the Niagara Olympic Club’s track and field infrastructure—enhancing the training and competition experience, increasing community participation, and creating new revenue opportunities.
- $420,000 to retrofit the YMCA of Niagara with energy-efficient LED lighting and new rooftop HVAC units—improving air quality, cutting energy costs, and supporting a more sustainable, healthier facility.
At a time when Ontario families are facing rising costs, the Ontario PC government is proud to support projects that deliver better services, break down barriers, and create opportunities for children and young people. By investing in infrastructure like this, the government is protecting Ontario jobs, strengthening communities, and building a more resilient and self-reliant economy.
These investments are part of our PC government’s broader plan to build Ontario by investing in the infrastructure our communities rely on every day—from hospitals and schools to transit and recreation. We’re putting shovels in the ground, creating good-paying jobs, and building a stronger, healthier province for generations to come.
