Families across the Greater Toronto Area know the frustration of sitting in traffic when they should be home for dinner. Businesses know the cost of shipping delays when goods can’t move quickly. Gridlock drains up to $56 billion a year from Ontario’s economy.
That’s why our Ontario PC government is taking action. Construction of Highway 413 is officially underway.
We’ve awarded the first contracts to start building this critical new highway, which will connect York, Peel, and Halton regions. Once complete, Highway 413 will:
- Cut commute times by up to 30 minutes per trip
- Support over 6,000 good-paying jobs every year during construction
- Contribute more than $1 billion annually to Ontario’s economy
This is about more than building a road. It’s about protecting Ontario’s future: getting drivers out of gridlock, helping families spend more time together, supporting new housing and economic growth, and keeping Ontario competitive for decades to come.
While some politicians want to delay and say no, our Ontario PC team is saying YES to building. Yes to new highways, yes to better transit, and yes to the infrastructure Ontario families and businesses need today.
Highway 413 is just one part of our plan to Build Ontario, alongside projects like the Bradford Bypass, the Garden City Skyway, and new transit expansions across the province.
