Doug Ford and our Ontario PC government are cutting red tape, getting shovels in the ground faster, and keeping workers on the job.
Through the Fighting Delays, Building Faster Act, 2025, our government is taking direct aim at the costly delays and bureaucracy slowing down housing, road, and infrastructure construction across the province.
While other governments talk about housing targets, we’re getting it done by streamlining approvals, tackling backlogs, and holding everyone accountable for results.
Cutting Red Tape and Building Homes Faster
We’re:
- Streamlining site plan approvals so builders can get to work sooner — reducing costs and creating consistent rules across municipalities.
- Reviewing the Ontario Building Code section-by-section to eliminate unnecessary red tape while keeping safety as the top priority.
- Helping farmers build housing for seasonal workers faster by simplifying septic approvals.
Supporting Tenants and Landlords Fairly
We’ve doubled the number of full-time adjudicators at the Landlord and Tenant Board — cutting the backlog by one-third since its peak.
Now, we’re going further with new measures to stop bad actors from gaming the system and to bring more rental housing online.
Building Infrastructure and Reducing Gridlock
We’re:
- Prohibiting lane reductions when cities add new bike lanes — because people and goods must keep moving.
- Creating a new public water and wastewater corporation for Mississauga, Brampton, and Caledon — so vital infrastructure projects can move ahead without delay.
- Establishing province-wide road construction standards to speed up local projects and reduce costs.
As tariffs and global uncertainty threaten jobs and investment, Ontario is taking decisive action to protect our economy, strengthen our communities, and build the infrastructure of the future.
