Record Investments to Protect Ontario’s Health-Care System

Ontario is making record investments to protect and strengthen our health-care system and make sure families can get the care they need, when and where they need it.

Since 2018, Ontario has nearly doubled its investment in health care. This year alone, more than $101 billion is being invested across the province, the largest health-care investment in Ontario’s history.

That investment is helping deliver more doctors, more care closer to home and new and expanded hospitals in communities across the province.

Our plan includes:

  • $3.4 billion to connect everyone in Ontario to a family doctor or primary care team by 2029.
  • An additional $1.1 billion for hospitals to help reduce wait times and ensure they have the resources needed to deliver world-class care.
  • An additional $1.1 billion for home and community care, bringing total funding to more than $5 billion and supporting more than 700,000 patients.
  • $64 billion to build and upgrade more than 50 hospitals across the province.
  • The largest medical school expansion in more than a decade, including new medical schools at Toronto Metropolitan University and York University and hundreds of additional medical school seats.
  • 29 Homelessness and Addiction Recovery Treatment (HART) Hubs delivering treatment and lasting recovery supports for people struggling with addiction.

These investments are about building a stronger health-care system for today while making sure it is ready to serve families for generations to come.

Doug Ford and our Ontario PC team will continue making the investments needed to reduce wait times, expand access to care and protect Ontario’s health-care system so people across the province can get the high-quality care they deserve.
