Statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on the nomination of Lorne Coe
“I congratulate Lorne Coe on his nomination as the Ontario PC candidate for Whitby.
“Since his massive by-election victory in February, Lorne has been an incredible addition to our Ontario PC team. He is a very hard-working MPP who is passionate about serving his constituents.
“Lorne hit the ground running at Queen’s Park. The first Private Member’s Bill Lorne introduced, which eliminated age discrimination for post-stroke recovery patients, was passed into law unanimously. He has also been a strong advocate for Durham Region, fighting for the Grandview Children’s Centre and Ontario Shores. Working as our Caucus’ critic for Advanced Education, Skills and Development, Lorne has been an advocate for addressing Ontario’s growing skills gap.
“After 13 years in power, life is harder under the Liberals. Hydro rates are skyrocketing. Health care is being slashed. Scandal after scandal has meant billions of tax dollars have been wasted. It’s time for a change in Ontario.
“I look forward to working closely with Lorne as we continue to spread the Ontario PC Party’s positive message of a more prosperous future with the people of Whitby, Durham Region, and Ontario.”
