Statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on the nomination of Jeff Yurek
“I congratulate Jeff on his nomination as the Ontario PC candidate for Elgin-Middlesex-London.
“First elected in 2011, Jeff has continued to be a dedicated and passionate advocate for his constituents. He has stood up against the Liberal government for forcing a wind turbine project on the unwilling host municipality of Dutton/Dunwich, and the government’s lack of transparency surrounding another unaffordable fee for anglers and hunters. Jeff has also been a vocal critic against cuts to local health care services.
“A pharmacist, Jeff serves as the Ontario PC Critic for Health, where he has been leading the charge against the Wynne Liberals’ cuts to health care and its impacts on patient care throughout the province. Recently Jeff’s hard work resulted in all-party support for his Private Member’s Bill, Ryan’s Law, which ensures all Ontario schools have standardized policies regarding the use of life-saving asthma medications.
“After 13 years in power, life is harder under the Liberals. Ontarians are faced with skyrocketing hydro rates, cut after cut to health care services, and Liberal scandal, waste and mismanagement is making life increasingly unaffordable. It’s time for a change in Ontario.
“I look forward to continuing to work alongside Jeff as we share the Ontario PC Party’s message of a more prosperous future with the province.”
