Delivering Reliable and Affordable Energy in North Bay
New expansion project will make life more affordable for businesses and families
Natural gas is a safe, reliable, and lower-cost heating fuel that will lead to cheaper home heating costs for families and more investment by businesses throughout the province. That’s why our PC government committed to expanding natural gas access to communities across the province in Ontario’s northern, rural, and Indigenous communities.
To that end, today we were pleased to announce that we’re providing up to $8.67 million to expand natural gas to households and businesses in North Bay.
“Expanding natural gas access to this area of North Bay will help businesses grow and create jobs,” said Bill Walker, MPP for Bruce—Grey—Owen Sound and Associate Minister of Energy. “Our government is committed to ensuring our northern and rural communities are open for business – providing reliable and affordable energy to North Bay is just one of the ways we are delivering on that commitment.”
Construction is underway on a new natural gas pipeline that will bring more reliable and affordable energy to the Northshore and Peninsula Roads area. The Northshore and Peninsula Roads Expansion Project involves the construction of 27 kilometers of new natural gas pipeline by Enbridge. The project is part of Ontario’s Natural Gas Expansion Program and will deliver natural gas to an estimated 134 homes and businesses.
By expanding access to natural gas, our PC government is making life more affordable for businesses and families in rural, northern, and Indigenous communities and put more money back in people’s pockets.
