Doug Downey Acclaimed as Ontario PC Party Candidate for Barrie—Springwater—Oro-Medonte

BARRIE—SPRINGWATER—ORO-MEDONTE – Today, the Ontario PC Party announced that Doug Downey has been acclaimed as the party’s candidate for Barrie—Springwater—Oro-Medonte in the next provincial general election.

Since his election as MPP for Barrie—Springwater—Oro-Medonte, Doug has been a dedicated advocate for his community, delivering key results in healthcare, job training, infrastructure and transit, including increased GO service on the Barrie Line, the Barrie Allandale Bus Terminal expansion and Bayfield Street rehabilitation.

“Doug is a strong voice for the people of Barrie—Springwater—Oro-Medonte,” said Doug Ford, Leader of the Ontario PC Party. “From lowering costs for families by cutting the gas tax and eliminating licence plate fees, to expanding healthcare and investing in critical infrastructure, Doug has consistently delivered for his community. His focus on creating good jobs, strengthening public services, and building more homes highlights his deep commitment to the people he serves. I’m confident he’ll keep fighting for the future of this region.”

Doug Downey and the Ontario PC Party remain focused on key priorities for Barrie—Springwater—Oro-Medonte, including the continued expansion of GO Transit services to provide more frequent, two-way all-day service, ongoing investment in critical infrastructure projects, and improving access to healthcare with the expansion of Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre.
