Jane Kovarikova Nominated as the 2022 Ontario PC Party Candidate for London Fanshawe

LONDON – The Ontario PC Party is pleased to announce that Jane Kovarikova has been nominated as our candidate for the riding of London-Fanshawe for the 2022 provincial election.

Jane Kovarikova is a child welfare advocate and founder of the Child Welfare Policy Action Committee Canada (Child Welfare PAC), a national charity that has been instrumental in creating tuition-free college and university spots for current and former youth-in-care, across London and Ontario.

Jane grew up in foster care and began to live on her own at age sixteen. Understanding the unique circumstances and challenges youth-in-care face is what inspired Jane to dedicate her professional and academic career to bettering youth outcomes.

“I am thrilled to join Doug Ford’s PC Team as your new candidate for London Fanshawe,” said Jane Kovarikova. “I look forward to continuing to build on the work the government has done to advance child welfare policy in Ontario, and provide better outcomes and opportunities for children and youth in our province.”

Jane graduated with a BA (Hon) in Psychology from Laurentian University and an MSc in Human Rights from the London School of Economics. As a staffer at the Ontario Legislative Assembly, Jane was instrumental in developing legislation to reduce youth homelessness.

Jane is a PhD Candidate and Lecturer at Western University in the Department of Political Science, and currently serves as board chair of a regional child protection agency and on the Premier’s Council for Equality of Opportunity.

“We are pleased to have Jane represent our riding under the PC banner for of the next election,” said Gareth Nielson, President of the London Fanshawe PC Riding Association. “Jane will be a strong advocate for the people of London Fanshawe, and children across Ontario.”
