FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
THORNHILL – Today, the Ontario PC Party announced that Laura Smith has been acclaimed as the party’s candidate for Thornhill in the next provincial general election.
Since first being elected, Laura has been a tireless advocate for the people of Thornhill. Her efforts have spanned key areas like infrastructure, health care, and economic growth, delivering solutions that have strengthened her community and supported families. Under her leadership, Thornhill has benefited from affordability measures to ease the rising cost of living, including a 10-cent cut to the gas tax, the elimination of license plate sticker fees, and expanded transit affordability through the One Fare program.
“Laura is a champion for Thornhill, dedicated to making life more affordable for families in her community,” said Doug Ford, Leader of the Ontario PC Party. “From expanding Highway 404 to bolstering emergency services and supporting the removal of fees like the license plate sticker cost, her efforts reflect her commitment to building better and more affordable Thornhill for everyone.”
Laura and the Ontario PC Party remain focused on enhancing quality of life in Thornhill and across Ontario. Through initiatives such as the recently announced $200 taxpayer rebate, aimed at helping families manage rising costs, Laura is helping address the financial pressures facing Ontario households.
“Representing Thornhill is an honour and a responsibility I hold close to my heart,” said Smith. “By focusing on affordability, we’re not only easing the burden on families but creating a community where people can thrive. I am committed to ensuring Thornhill remains a vibrant and affordable place to live, work, and grow.”
