Laura Smith Nominated as Ontario PC Candidate for Thornhill


THORNHILL – The Ontario PC Party is pleased to announce that Laura Smith has been nominated as our 2022 Ontario PC Candidate for the riding of Thornhill.

Laura is a determined problem solver whose skills and experience have helped her build strong relationships within her community. As a seasoned legal professional her vast business and volunteer experience has helped guide numerous organizations to effect positive community-wide change. 

Laura is a Director with the Thornhill Thunder Soccer Club, and a former vice president of a local co-operative nursery school. She is a passionate and dedicated advocate for education, youth and early childhood programs. Additionally, Laura has a keen understanding of the challenges facing families caring for loved ones with dementia and other cognitive impairments.

“I am honoured and excited to be running as your next MPP for Thornhill,” said Laura Smith. “Thornhill is a truly unique community, and I look forward to joining Doug Ford’s team and build a better Thornhill for families and future generations.”

Laura studied political science at York University and legal administration at Seneca College. This led to her establishing and managing her own litigation support company which has serviced the GTA proudly for more than 25 years.

“Laura is a long-time party activist and is dedicated to serving her community,” said Brian Patterson, President of the Ontario PC Party. “We are pleased to have Laura join our PC team ahead of the next election.”
