Michael Ford Ontario PC Candidate For York South-Weston

TORONTO, ON – The Ontario PC Party is pleased to announce that Toronto City Councillor Michael Ford will run as our 2022 candidate for York South-Weston in the next provincial election.

“Michael is one the hardest working people I know. He gets things done and fights for the people he represents every step of the way,” said Ontario PC Party Leader Doug Ford. “He’s proven himself as a strong advocate for his constituents over the last two terms serving on city council and will continue doing so at Queen’s Park.”

A lifelong resident of Toronto’s west-end, Michael has served for nearly a decade in public office. He was first elected in 2014 as a Toronto District School Board Trustee and is currently serving his second term on Toronto City Council.

Michael has dedicated his time at City Hall to supporting major transit project expansions and making critical investments that create well-paying jobs and strong economic and community growth. Serving on the Toronto Police Services Board, he has also been a strong advocate for investments in community safety, working to strengthen bonds between police officers and residents to make neighbourhoods across Toronto safer.

“The people of York South-Weston deserve a representative at Queen’s Park who doesn’t just talk and delay, but will get things built and create good-paying jobs for our community,” said Michael Ford. “I know that only Doug Ford and the Ontario PC team will get the job done. That is why I am honoured to be your PC candidate for York South-Weston, and look forward to earning your support and building our great community.”

As Michael embarks on the campaign trail to be the next MPP for York South-Weston, he will be donating his Toronto City Council salary to local community-based organizations. Michael looks forward to hitting the ground running and being a part of Team Ontario.
