Ontario Liberals’ Rhetoric Can’t Hide Their Record in the North

September 14, 2023

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

THUNDER BAY – Ahead of the Ontario Liberals’ first leadership debate in Thunder Bay tonight, the Ontario PC Party released the following statement:

“The Ontario Liberals’ rhetoric can’t hide their record in the North.

Northerners still remember life under the Ontario Liberals.

They said NO to Northern Ontario calling the North “no man’s land.”

They said NO to jobs, leading to eight of ten Ontario forestry mills closing and global mining competitiveness falling from first in the world to twenty-third.

They said NO to economic prosperity by failing to take any action on the Ring of Fire.

They said NO to getting people moving by cancelling the Northlander.

And they said NO to keeping costs down by imposing a carbon tax, which every Liberal leadership candidate supports.

Let’s be clear: It’s not whether they support a carbon tax but how high they would make it.

While the Ontario Liberals continue down their path of saying NO, our PC team will continue getting it done for the North and all of Ontario.”
