Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown Supports Measure to combat anti-semitism

“The Ontario PCs will unequivocally stand against any form of hate and racism in this province, including opposing all forms of anti-Semitism.

“We are encouraged that in their budget the Wynne Liberals finally included anti-Semitism as part of their Anti-Racism Strategy – a request the PCs have repeatedly made.

“For weeks our Caucus members, and in particular PC MPP and Anti-Racism Secretariat Critic Lisa MacLeod, have called for the inclusion of anti-Semitism in the Anti-Racism Strategic Plan released by the Ontario Liberal government.

“This is keeping with PC MPP Gila Martow’s successful motion in December 2016 to make Ontario the first province to reject the boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) campaign against Israel.

“We ask that the Wynne Liberals take this commitment a step further than a pledge to more than an education plan, and to include anti-Semitism comprehensively into the three-year Anti-Racism Strategic Plan as well as in Bill 114, An Act to provide for Anti-Racism Measures.”
