To accelerate home construction and reduce red tape, the Ontario PC government is introducing the Protect Ontario by Building Faster and Smarter Act, 2025. If passed, this legislation will eliminate unnecessary delays, lower housing costs and keep workers on the job during a time of economic uncertainty.
In addition, the Ontario PC government is committing $400 million in immediate funding to the Housing-Enabling Water Systems Fund (HEWSF) and the Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program (MHIP), bringing total investment across both programs to $2.3 billion. This significant boost will support the critical infrastructure needed to accelerate homebuilding across the province.
