Ontario PCs Ready to Get it Done in Milton and Lambton—Kent—Middlesex

Ontario PCs the only party fighting the Liberal carbon tax and the only party that will build Highway 413

April 3, 2024 – With by-elections called in the ridings of Milton and Lambton—Kent—Middlesex, the Ontario PCs are the only party fighting the Liberal carbon tax to keep costs down for people and the only party that will build roads and highways, including Highway 413 and expanding Highway 401 between London and Tilbury.

“Bonnie Crombie is the Queen of the Carbon Tax,” said Doug Ford, leader of the Ontario PCs. “We need to elect strong local candidates like Zee Hamid in Milton and Steve Pinsonneault in Lambton—Kent—Middlesex so we can add more voices to our fight against the awful Liberal carbon tax and keep more money in peoples’ pockets, where it belongs.”

The PC government is investing $100 billion to build new roads, highways and public transit projects to relieve gridlock across Ontario, including funding to build Highway 413 and the Bradford Bypass in the Greater Toronto Area, as well as funding to expand Highway 401 between London and Tilbury. The PC government will also enhance GO train service along the Milton line with two-way all-day service, subject to the federal government committing to being a full funding partner.

“We’re the only party saying ‘yes’ to building the roads, highways and public transit our growing communities need,” added Ford. “Bonnie Crombie opposes Highway 413. She won’t build the roads and highways growing communities like Milton and Lambton—Kent—Middlesex need. Zee and Steve will Get it Done.”

A long-time resident of Milton, Zee Hamid served as a Milton councillor for three terms, working to build more homes and get people moving. He has served as a director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton and Hamilton, and on the boards of Halton Healthcare, Halton Community Housing Corporation and Conservation Halton and currently serves on the board of Community Development of Halton North. An experienced professional in the tech sector, Zee is passionate about expanding access to high quality education, connecting the next generation with skilled jobs and creating jobs for the local economy. He lives in Milton with his wife and their family of six children.

A proud resident of Thamesville, Steve Pinsonneault is well-known for his public service. Since 2006, Steve has served as Councillor for Ward 3 (East Kent) on Chatham-Kent Council and continues to serve as a volunteer firefighter. A small business owner, Steve is passionate about creating new jobs and new opportunities in the skilled trades. Steve is a lifelong resident of Lambton—Kent—Middlesex and a dedicated husband and the father of three adult children.
