PC Candidate Lorne Coe Excited for Start of Whitby-Oshawa By-Election Campaign
WHITBY-OSHAWA – This morning, the writ was issued to hold a provincial by-election in Whitby-Oshawa on February 11, 2016. In response to this Ontario PC Candidate Lorne Coe expressed his excitement of providing a strong alternative to the Wynne Liberals.
“After years of representing the region as a councillor, coupled with my experience in the private sector and at Queen’s Park, I intimately know the challenges the residents of Whitby-Oshawa face,” said Coe. “You will be able to count on me be a strong voice at Queen’s Park and to continue Christine Elliott’s legacy of advocacy and strong representation for our community.”
Following the Premier’s announcement to call a provincial by-election, Ontario PC Candidate Lorne Coe took an unpaid leave of absence from his role as Regional Councillor, effective January 12th.
“Life is harder under the Liberals. Energy prices are skyrocketing and further rate increases are expected, Ontarians are feeling the pressure of tax-hikes, and we continue to see cuts to front-line services,” added Coe. “The recent Auditor General report was a scathing indictment of this Liberal Government’s incompetence. We welcome voters having an opportunity to send this government a message – the people of Whitby-Oshawa are tired of the Liberals putting their political self-interests above those of the people of Ontario.”
Coe concluded, “I promise to hold the Liberals accountable and to advocate for an Ontario that provides the world’s best social and health services, one that leads Canada’s economy and doesn’t lag behind. One that is the best place in the world to live, work and raise a family.”
