Statement from Interim Ontario PC Leader Vic Fedeli on the Nomination of Andrea Khanjin
“I congratulate Andrea Khanjin on her nomination as the Ontario PC candidate for Barrie-Innisfil.
“Andrea brings more than a decade of experience as a trusted senior advisor to political parties, public figures, not-for-profits, and government.
“With deep roots in the Barrie and Innisfil communities, she knows how to deliver results in high-stakes situations.
“Andrea was a senior advisor in the government of Prime Minister Stephen Harper for 10 years, where she worked for Finance Minister Joe Oliver and Immigration Minister Jason Kenney. She was part of the team that balanced the federal budget, cleaned up Lake Simcoe, and raised funds for Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre.
“More recently, she served as a senior policy advisor to the Ontario PC Leader and Caucus, where she focused on education, families, and labour.
“Andrea was four years old when she first saw Barrie. Her family’s story is the story of many Ontario families—a family of refugees, fleeing the iron curtain of Soviet communism for a life of peace and freedom in Canada. For her family, hope and opportunity were found in the Barrie and Innisfil communities. It’s the place she called home for 25 years no matter where life took her for school, work, or service.
“A graduate of King Edward Public School and Barrie Central Collegiate, as well as the University of Ottawa, Andrea’s values of hard work, service, and respect will serve her constituents well as the representative for Barrie-Innisfil.
“Kathleen Wynne and the Liberals are untrustworthy. For 15 years, this Liberal government has proven themselves willing to do and say anything to cling to power. While Ontario families, seniors, and youth pay more, Liberal insiders get rich.
“In Barrie-Innisfil and across the province, the Ontario PCs will continue to work hard for a better future. I look forward to working with Andrea as we continue to share our message of change for the better with Ontario families.”
