Statement from Leader of the Official Opposition Patrick Brown on the Tribute to the Fallen

The following is a statement from Leader of the Official Opposition Patrick Brown on Ontario’s Tribute to the Fallen:

“Today the province of Ontario is honouring the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to their communities. Ontario’s first responders are the ones that bravely answer the call when we need their help. They never shy away from an opportunity to stand up for their communities, and to protect the safety that we all cherish. They are motivated by compassion and public service, and we will never forget their sacrifice.  

When I think about fallen heroes, I remember Bill Wilkins, a Barrie fire fighter, who tragically lost his life running into a burning building. His loss reminds us of the courage of first responders, who face unforeseen risks in their work each day in their efforts to protect others.”
